What's the National Anthem of Singapore?
:icongoat89:
Majulah Singapura. Sung in Behasu Malayu (Malaysian Malay, not Indonesian Malay)
:iconjager375:
Majulah Singapura! And what does that mean? Is that a martial song like ours? Is there in the last lyric proclaiming "I'll be glad to die for you", like ours?
:icongoat89:
It means Onwards Singapore. Ours is more of a ';prosperity for S';pore through our strength, we can be better!' song. our history is far more 'low down' than yours. As such, our anthem is more of a peaceful co-existence business economic like song. Philippines has a fabulous, and though at times tumultuous like Marcos ><, your song is somewhat forged by blood and sweat. We sort of had it easy, though pushing for independence from the Malaysian States and the period after that was difficult.
:iconjager375:
Lucky is your anthem. It sings of, as you say, "prosperity and progress" through unity and the collective will of the people. Whereas in our anthem, in the last line, it speaks of dying. It's kinda like a bad "Feng Shui" thing. I don't want to die for a country who's majority are undereducated and illiterate. Who votes for corrupt and stupid people in office every time. Although it's not entirely their fault. Government purposely keeps them undereducated, to control and flimflammed them.

And that's how you govern a poor country. ;-)

I want to be Sultan! :D
